Types of BECT Training

Classroom Training

We bring the BECT class to you! Enjoy the convenience of being trained at your desired location. The BECT Classroom sessions are approximately four (4) hours in length and are given with a PowerPoint presentation.

Requirements:

  • Host organization must be an electric or natural gas customer of PG&E with an active meter serviced by PG&E.
  • Responsible for the location and classroom setup including projector and screen.
  • A minimum of 10 eligible participants must preregister within five business days prior to the scheduled class. If fewer than 10 people preregister, the class will be rescheduled for a later date when more participants can be attracted.
  • Classes with more than twenty (20) pre-registrants will be broken up into multiple sessions of 10-20 participants to ensure quality training time.

On-Site Training and Field Audits

Use your developments for demonstration purposes! Our on-site trainings are presented at your job site and are tailored to your field staff. The trainings will go through the applicable compliance forms and identify areas of improvement to help you meet your quality control standards. The trainings will also demonstrate all of the HERS inspections. Each On-Site Training will be held at a construction site to facilitate hands-on learning and includes two components: on-site education including a pre-training audit and a follow-up field audit including final report recommendations.

Requirements:

On-Site Training and Pre-Training Field Audit
  • Builder location must be within PG&E Service Territory.
  • Preferably have units available at rough and final.
  • Classroom type space for use with a projector and screen.
  • A minimum of 6 eligible participants must preregister within five business days prior to the scheduled class. If fewer than 6 people preregister, the on-site will be rescheduled with the builder for a later date when more participants can be attracted.
  • On the day of the training, prior to the class an initial field audit of the Measures and building practices employed, including all applicable diagnostic tests will be conducted.
On-Site Follow-Up Field Audit
  • Within three (3) to six (6) months after the On-Site Training class or after the builder has implemented the recommendations from the initial audit, an On-Site Follow-Up Field Audit will be conducted of the Measures and building practices employed, including all applicable diagnostic tests.
  • 33% of the attendees from the On-site Training must be available for the On-Site Follow-Up Field Audit.
  • An On-Site Training Report documenting changes in building practices and energy efficiency upgrades will be provided.
